Today, we marked ten years of the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance, and Reconciliation, a sacred occasion that was observed at the Lusaka Showgrounds and across the entire Republic.

It was not only a solemn gathering, but a day filled with the spirit of joy, unity, peace, and love, a reflection of God’s grace upon our beloved nation.

We give thanks to the Almighty for His enduring mercy and abundant blessings. This 10th anniversary calls us to pause, reflect, and acknowledge how far we have come as a people under God’s guidance.

Yes, Zambia is richly endowed, with minerals beneath our soil, vast water bodies, and fertile land. But our greatest asset lies not in what is beneath us, but in what is within us: our peaceful coexistence, our spirit of unity, and the grace of God that binds us together as one nation.

Let us not take this peace for granted. It is a gift, and a responsibility. We must guard it jealously, speak positively about our country even in challenging times, and continue to pray not only for Zambia, but for one another. That is not only Godly, it is deeply biblical.

As we look ahead, may we be a nation that continually seeks the face of God, walks in humility, and stands in unity. Let the next ten years be a testament of a Zambia that honours God, not only in word, but in deed. A Zambia that thrives in peace, justice, and compassion.

One Zambia. One Nation. Under One God.

Hakainde Hichilema,
President of the Republic of Zambia.

β€ŽBantu Bakamina, today we truly sweated it out 😁

To kick-start the World Tourism Week, we took part in the Mosi-oa-Tunya Green Marathon, organized by the Nyika Women’s Green Foundation under its Green Smart National Campaign.

The marathon featured 21km, 10km, 5km, and 2.5km races, elo imwe bantu I ran the full 10 km πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ all in the spirit of promoting a healthier planet and stronger communities through collaborative climate action.

Beyond fitness, this marathon carried a deeper purpose, to champion Smart Climate Action and safeguard a sustainable environment for both present and future generations, with a strong focus on proper waste management and responsible disposal.

We were honored to have the Honourable Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Mr. Mike Mposha, MP, as our Guest of Honour, who also shared in this spirit of action.

Good Morning Bantu Bakamina

Proverbs 3:6 - Know him in all your paths, and he will keep your ways straight.

Good Morning Early Risers 🌞

Bantu Bakamina, you must look after your money because it will look after you in future.

Every single person that you see living a certain lifestyle started by looking after what they have, investing in growing and starting a business which they had to look after.

So, anything that you manage and look after, it will in turn look after you.

Whatever you give yourself to, that thing will give itself back to you. Give yourself to a job, you give yourself a business, that business would one day give itself back to you.

So, right now we are talking about money. Look after it, invest it, grow it because one day it will look after you.

Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead of you 😊

It was a great honor and privilege to attend the inaugural Kavango Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) Heads of State Summit today, alongside my colleagues and fellow leaders: President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of the Republic of Zimbabwe, President Dr. Nangolo Mbumba of the Republic of Namibia, His Honor Mr. Slumber Tsogwane, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, and the Minister responsible for Tourism from the Republic of Angola.

The Summit held in the city of Livingstone marks a critical step in our collaborative and complementary efforts to establish and develop the KAZA TFCA, enhancing conservation and tourism destinations in the Okavango and Zambezi regions of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Our cultural values, upheld by the custodianship of our traditional leaders, have sustainably managed our resources in the KAZA region for centuries. We are duty-bound to continue this responsibility, ensuring the preservation of these natural assets for future generations as those before us did.

KAZA is rich with wildlife that occasionally threatens the natural habitat, making culling a necessary measure to reinvest the resources into conservation and the development of critical infrastructure for local communities.

As leaders of the KAZA region, we are committed to facilitating the acceleration of socio-economic transformation in the eco-region while prioritizing sustainability.

Congrats πŸ‘πŸ§‘β€βœˆοΈ
We had the privilege of officiating at the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) No. 46 and No. 47 commissioning and Wings Parade, marking the largest number of Air Force officer cadet pass-outs, since independence.

This contigent of 470 new officers, representing the best of our nation's sons and daughters, hail from all ten provinces of our nation, demonstrating our commitment to inclusivity.

We commend their perseverance in completing a rigorous training program which encompassed various military skills.

As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that peace and stability are essential precursors to national development, for without peace, it would be impossible to attain economic transformation.

The newly commissioned officers, who have joined the Air Force today, must embody discipline and defend our country's sovereignty against external and internal threats.

They must promote harmony and exercise tolerance, while avoiding toxic discourses that subjugate fellow citizens as inferior and unworthy, and instead uphold the principles of "One Zambia, One Nation and One People".

As Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I have today directed that the curriculum of all Armed and Security Forces be enhanced to include national unity and equality as a subject.

And to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, the Armed Forces must always exercise fairness and equity in the career progression of deserving military personnel.

Furthermore, our government will support the integration of technology within our forces, which should be used to enhance collaboration and partnership among all wings, and in turn promote operational unity across Defense and Security Departments.
