Today, we marked ten years of the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance, and Reconciliation, a sacred occasion that was observed at the Lusaka Showgrounds and across the entire Republic.
It was not only a solemn gathering, but a day filled with the spirit of joy, unity, peace, and love, a reflection of Godβs grace upon our beloved nation.
We give thanks to the Almighty for His enduring mercy and abundant blessings. This 10th anniversary calls us to pause, reflect, and acknowledge how far we have come as a people under Godβs guidance.
Yes, Zambia is richly endowed, with minerals beneath our soil, vast water bodies, and fertile land. But our greatest asset lies not in what is beneath us, but in what is within us: our peaceful coexistence, our spirit of unity, and the grace of God that binds us together as one nation.
Let us not take this peace for granted. It is a gift, and a responsibility. We must guard it jealously, speak positively about our country even in challenging times, and continue to pray not only for Zambia, but for one another. That is not only Godly, it is deeply biblical.
As we look ahead, may we be a nation that continually seeks the face of God, walks in humility, and stands in unity. Let the next ten years be a testament of a Zambia that honours God, not only in word, but in deed. A Zambia that thrives in peace, justice, and compassion.
One Zambia. One Nation. Under One God.
Hakainde Hichilema,
President of the Republic of Zambia.
