HISTORY OF JUNE 16!
On June 16, 1976, thousands of black students in Soweto peacefully protested against the forced use of Afrikaans in schools. The policy was seen as a tool of oppression, and students demanded education in their own languages.
Police responded with teargas and live bull3ts. The first to be sh0t was 13-year-old Hector Pieterson, whose image became a symbol of the uprising.
The protests spread across South Africa, strengthening resistance to apartheid and drawing worldwide attention.
Today, June 16 is celebrated as Youth Day in South Africa, honoring the courage of the students and the role young people play in creating changeβ€οΈ.
