Lowveld Book Festival

Lowveld Book Festival The Lowveld Book Festival offers a programme filled with something for everyone. Contact 071 134 8172

We love our ‘Slowveld’ and want to show it off to bibliophiles and bookworms across the land. Our warm-hearted town, where everyone loves a festival, and the long-held dream of founder, Louis van der Merwe, ensured the birth of the Lowveld Book Festival in August 2016. This year, the Lowveld Book Festival will take place from 18 to 20 August at the Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River. From storytelling for tots to teens, who tell their own stories, to some authors who unwrap the past while others explore and explain electronic and other current reading trends, we’ve snapped them up! The festival will include poetry, readings, discussions and workshops where the magic and beauty of the written word is captured and presented to visitors over a weekend which, with classic Lowveld style, is relaxed and laid back despite the bustle and activity. Browse around the marquee on the lawn for books, not to the must have chocolate and wine, while you meet authors and publishers, poets and story tellers. Book your tickets and set your satnav for Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in White River on 18 August.
