What an amazing evening!

Luna Paige featuring Hugo Veldsman with Roots Retrospective delivered a truly special show at the theatre. An incredible collection of all-original songs, performed with passion, heart, and so much talent.

The audience enjoyed every single moment, and it was wonderful to see people connecting with and celebrating South African original music.

We are so thankful to Luna Paige and Hugo Veldsman for keeping our beautiful South African music alive and for sharing their incredible talent with us.

POETS, WINE & SONG – MEL BOTES
A celebration of the poets, their songs and of course paired with wine! Featuring master guitarist and songwriter, Mel Botes.
Take a trip down memory lane as Mel performs a variety of old classic songs by some of his favourite poets. Be swept away by a selection of Mel’s original music from his albums “David’s Confession”, “Flight of Bird”, plus the new “River Symphony” – A symphony in progress.
A seasoned raconteur – Mel relates how words became songs and why these songs made such an extraordinary impact on him personally and on the music listening community at large. The music of performance of artists including Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Rodriguez, and will be interpreted through the eyes, mind and voice of Mel Botes.

Roots Retrospective brings Luna Paige and Hugo Veldsman together for an intimate evening of folk, blues, Americana and story-driven songwriting. Led by Luna’s soulful voice, piano and acoustic textures, the performance draws from more than two decades of English-language material shaped through a distinctly South African lens. Hugo adds refined fingerstyle guitar, atmospheric textures and selected songs of his own, creating a stripped-back, deeply expressive live collaboration rooted in craft, feeling and musical honesty.

What an unforgettable evening at Die ATKV Bôrdienghuis Teater this past Friday!
A huge thank you to Albert Frost for an absolutely phenomenal performance. What an incredible musician! Without a doubt, Albert is one of South Africa's finest guitarists, and he once again proved why he is so highly respected in the music industry.
Not only is he an outstanding performer, but he is also a true professional and a genuinely wonderful person to work with. It was a privilege to host him.
To everyone who joined us and helped make the evening a sold-out success – thank you for your amazing support. The atmosphere was electric, and together we created a night to remember.
We look forward to welcoming Albert Frost back to Die ATKV Bôrdienghuis Teater again soon!
