It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Anna Moloi. Anna passed away on Thursday, 7 May 2026. Notable works she contributed to includes the 'Planet cloths' and the Totem project for the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Shockingly, we further learnt of the passing of her husband earlier this morning. Our thought and prayers are with their family and friends. May they rest in peace.

Something special in the making! This beautiful botanical cloth was designed by Dorah Hlongwane and is currently in the hands of Sarah Malatsi, known for her superlative embroidery. Large cloths can take between 2 to 3 months to complete, which influences the availability of these wonderful pieces. Dorah Hlongwane's story, the Rainbow Bird, forms part of the Fabricating Fables series. The cloth tells the story of a beautiful bird obsessed by his own beauty, which ultimately led to his downfall. The work is on display at the Association of Arts Pretoria until 18 April.

What a wonderful moment, opening up a massive bag of embroidery threads! A massive thank you to the young men, the RCL and leadership of Pretoria Boys High for their incredibly generous donation of threads and fabric.
