Summer holidays holds a few pleasures, and one is creative crafting with Canvas Club !
Besides all the fun craft Bugs, Fish, Masks
etc. that the kids took home, they also practiced some SUPERSKILLS! 'Topographical orientation: This is practiced when children threaded wool. They could thread in any direction they liked, and so had to think about it and figure out their own route and design.' (Write up from Canvas Club Occupational therepist.)
While creating the 'extremely dangerous' Nile Crocodile, the kids used both lateral and creative thinking skills. These are essential in work such as Civil engeneering where you design, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain projects.
My creative students also taught me how to mix the perfect peach colour!!
