Just spending some quality time with my Singer… 🎶🧵💕

Singing along as I make this tutu, because honestly, I LOVE this sound! The hum of the machine, the fabric moving through my hands, and another creation slowly coming to life. ✨

I hope everybody is keeping warm because WOW… it is COLD! 🥶❄️ But cold weather or not, the sewing must go on! 😂🧵

So while everyone is wrapped up in blankets, I’m wrapped up in fabric, listening to my Singer do what she does best. 😍

Because around here… as long as the sewing must go on, the Singer must sing! 🎶😂💜

It really takes a village to raise a child. ❤️

You are my village.

Every like, every share, every comment, and every purchase has meant so much more than supporting a small business. You have been helping me raise an incredible young lady.

In the beginning, it was just my mom and me, and life was a little more challenging. Then, in 2021, CraftyNannyYaya was born. I never imagined this little business would grow the way it has, but by God's grace, it continues to grow and has become such an important part of Faith's life and future.

"And y'all thought the bow ties were finished? 😂 Nope... we're only halfway there!"

One thing about handmade... it's going to humble you! 😂

I finally finished sewing all these straps, but the job isn't done yet.

Next, I have to turn every single one the right way out with my little loop turner (yes... every. single. one. 😅), then iron them all before I can finally attach them to the Heritage bow ties.

I told you guys there's a LOT that goes into making these! It's definitely not just sew and done. But every step is worth it because I want each bow tie to be beautifully made and ready for its new home. ❤️🇿🇦

Now... who's volunteering to help me turn these straps? 😂

One thing I changed in my Alice bands journey is that I now hand sew the opening closed instead of using glue.

Why? Because some customers told me that over time the Alice band inside can sometimes break, and when it’s glued shut there’s not much you can do besides replace the whole thing.

By hand sewing it closed, you can simply unpick a few stitches, replace the plain Alice band inside, sew it back up (or even glue it if sewing isn’t your thing 😅) and continue enjoying it instead of throwing it away.

I love creating pieces that can be used over and over again. There’s something so special about hearing:
“I’m still using the outfit I bought 3 years ago… now I just need a bigger size for my little one so I can gift the old one to a friend or family member.” 🥹❤️

That is the beauty of handmade pieces made with care — they become part of memories, celebrations, and little family stories that continue long after the first wear. ✨

Happy birthday to Olive, my trusty sidekick! Our runs are way more fun with her leading the way, even if she doesn't always listen. The snuggles are the highlight of my day, and playtime is always chaotic. I'm not gonna lie, the ankle tags can be a bit much sometimes, but she makes up for it with all the love and energy she brings. Now, who's gonna clean up all the fluff? 😂😂 🐶🎂
