This is an experimental piece combining a few pieces into a balanced composition.

Here is a more poetic description. The piece celebrates the welding process as a form of expressive mark-making, blending geometry with organic, chaotic energy. It exudes a gritty and transformative quality, resembling architectural elements—reclaimed industrial fragments that have been repurposed into a strong, tactile abstract form, following the tradition of junk-metal and welded sculpture.

It is not treated against rust so it's texture will change over time.

From Fetters to Frankincense
This piece is symbolic in nature. It combines a section of a hinge from an old barn door, a discarded chain salvaged from a farmyard, a bowl, and various pieces of scrap metal. The artwork incorporates elements such as a chain, a bowl, a central focus represented by the hinge, and other scraps. It portrays the burden of being chained by circumstance, while also conveying the hope of deliverance through our worship and prayer, likened to a bowl of incense.

Display Suggestions: On a Side Table or Altar-Style Stand (Intimate & Prayerful) Place it on a low wooden pedestal, an antique crate, or a small stone/concrete base in a meditation space. Add a small tea light or battery LED inside the bowl for a warm glow (symbolizing the prayers of the saints). Surround the setup with a Bible, a cross, or simple white lilies to incorporate the theme of purity represented by the fleur-de-lis. This arrangement invites people to pause and reflect, making it perfect for personal devotion or small group settings.

"Hinge Vein"
This design features a minimalistic style. This piece originated from the forgotten parts of heavy, rusted strap hinges that were once part of a weathered barn door. These hinges, which used to swing open and welcome the morning light, have been skillfully welded together and cleaned up. They are now arranged to curl upward like a determined vine striving for the sun. The white patina on the surface tells tales of decades spent enduring the elements, while the graceful spiral shape symbolizes resilience, growth, and the beauty that can emerge from objects that were once considered merely functional. This sculpture serves as a quiet reminder that even the most ordinary, worn-out items can be transformed into something elegant and meaningful when given a new purpose.

Table Lamp. This unique table lamp is designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing the stave of a wine barrel as the support arm, reinforced with a 40 mm flat bar. The base is fabricated from a 1 cm solid steel plate and an Oregon pine floorboard. The frame is welded together, with the wooden sections bolted securely to it. The lamp holder is crafted from a repurposed wooden pestle of a mortar and pestle set. The lamp fitting is custom made to fit into the lamp holder and is attached to the frame with a chain. Its rich history likely comprises a range of applications extending beyond screwdriving, potentially culminating in use as a paint stirrer. Mounted on a base fashioned from hardboard and plywood, the screwdriver's fixture exhibits a slightly off-center cutout.
