Our 14-day Super Sale comes to an end today.

It has been lovely having the work of Stellenbosch artists Hougaard Winterbach and Ingrid Winterbach on our walls and sharing a little more about their work with you over the past two weeks.

Thank you to everyone who came to look, took something home or asked questions about the work. Today is the last day to see the works and take advantage of the special sale prices.

A closer look at the work of Hougaard Winterbach, currently on the walls at Local Works as part of our 14-day Super Sale.

Hougaard (Hougaard Winterbach ) is a Stellenbosch-based artist whose practice spans drawing, bronze sculpture and jewellery. He has spent 24 years teaching art at tertiary level, while continuing his own work as a practicing artist. His interests in popular culture, pop art and horror often find their way into his work, alongside his love of comics, vinyl records and toys.

A closer look at the work of Ingrid Winterbach, currently on the walls at Local Works as part of our 14-day Super Sale.

Ingrid is both a visual artist and an award-winning novelist, and her approach to both is characterised by a playful challenging of conventional expectations. Her paintings and drawings are deliberately anti-aesthetic, often eclectic and tongue-in-cheek, inviting us to engage with what is actually there rather than what we might expect art to be.

For the next two weeks, Local Works will be showcasing works by Stellenbosch artists Ingird Winterbach and Hougaard Winterbach; with their works available at a special rate for 14 days only.
