🎼 Endler Concert Series | The Chopin Project II: The Complete Chamber Music

The Endler Concert Series presents the second instalment of The Chopin Project, pianist José Dias’ Jose Dias exploration of the complete works of Frédéric Chopin.

This concert focuses on Chopin’s complete chamber music – a remarkable collection of works that highlights the cello alongside the piano, from his early Piano Trio to the masterful Cello Sonata. Joined by acclaimed musicians Liezl Stoltz Liesl Stoltz (flute), Suzanne Martens (violin) and Peter Martens Peter Martens (cello), José Dias presents an evening celebrating some of Chopin’s finest chamber music.

He is visiting Stellenbosch University as part of the Organ Symposium hosted by the SU Music Department.

For 40 years, Felicia Lesch has used music as a form of social advocacy.

As founder of the Stellenbosch University Jazz Band and co-ordinator of the SU Music Departments Certificate Program, she opened the doors of the Endler Hall to the communities long shut out.

“There was no boundary between black and white in the jazz world,” she says.

She spoke to SMF News’ Jade Wainwright.
