This Sunday, Daisy Jones slows things down for an afternoon of world-class jazz.

Fresh from their acclaimed collaboration at Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek, pianist Ramon Alexander reunites with legendary South African saxophonist Buddy Wells for a special performance featuring fresh interpretations of Alexander's compositions and previews of music from his upcoming new album.

Joining them are Adam Fredericks on bass and Annemie Nel on drums for what promises to be an intimate afternoon of beautiful musicianship, improvisation and conversation between four exceptional players.

A Superhero Rock and Roll Birthday Bash

This isn't your average party.

On Saturday 13 June, Daisy Jones hosts a one-off lineup featuring some of the Western Cape's finest musical outlaws, all gathering to celebrate Jaxon Pieter Jamneck's birthday.

Leading the charge are the incomparable Mr. Cat & the Jackal , bringing their gypsy-folk circus, pirate blues and beautiful madness back to the Daisy stage. Hugo Veldsman arrives armed with lap steel, stories and dusty Americana soul, while Akkedis Band deliver the kind of Afrikaans rock and roll energy that has made them festival favourites for years.

Joining the party are Taleswapper, the acclaimed collaboration between Donny Truter and Jacques du Plessis, whose songs drift somewhere between poetry, melancholy and mischief. Rounding out the bill are blues-rock powerhouse Basson Laubscher & The Violent Free Peace, serving up foot-stomping grooves, smoking guitars and enough boogie to shake loose even the most stubborn superhero.

Several of these artists haven't played a live show in over a year, making this a rare gathering of friends, storytellers and musical troublemakers.

Marvel. DC. Heroes. Villains. Rock and Roll.

Dress-up is strongly encouraged, with prizes for the best-dressed heroes, villains and lovable weirdos.
