And for many, it has breathed life back into weary places. It has filled the quiet spaces not just with sound but glorious music.

Some nights can’t be captured on a phone screen.
For our Beethoven concert, we brought an old film camera along. No instant previews, no deleting shots. Just real moments, captured as they unfolded.
There was something fitting about using film to tell the story of a composer whose music has outlived centuries.
These photos are more than memories from a concert. They’re small fragments of a night that came and went, but left its mark.

Part 2 of the history behind Beethoven’s Symphony Eroica. 🎼🎶

Right in the heart of Stellenbosch, the Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra will perform this extraordinary symphony on May 30th, alongside heroic works by Antonín Dvořák and Jean Sibelius. This significant symphony deserves a significant crowd. We hope to see you there.

And perhaps Beethoven himself was the true hero all along.

Wherever he may rest in peace, I hope he hears us play his glorious symphony.

Preparing for our 30 May concert has been both rewarding and challenging.

Sometimes, to truly appreciate a piece, we need to look beyond the notes and into the life and history of the composer to better understand the mastery behind it. I spent time learning about the history behind Symphony No.3.

It’s not always easy trying to understand a man who lived 200 years ago, but I soon realised that music has the ability to transcend beyond time and history…
