Emerging from distinct corners of Soshanguve, Mmino Strings is an ensemble of young classically trained musicians who began playing stringed instruments from the ages of 14, through the UNISA MUSIC FOUNDATION centered in SOSHANGUVE and as well as the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra Cadette programme. During their journey as local musicians in Pretoria, Mmino has seen themselves in convocation
s of sharing musical experiences with different artists on extremely privileged platforms. Throughout these constant advancements in instrumental technique mastery, obtaining distinctions in UNISA examinations, success in auditions and playing for some of the most well represented and outstanding orchestras in South Africa, their friendship and the love for music grew and afforded them opportunities to travel around the world, performing for a greater audience and also partaking in workshops for cultural and indigenous music programmes through the exchange of different cultural experiences. Their travels as individuals and in a bigger group includes Germany, Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Algeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Qatar, Mozambique, and many other European countries . They have locally performed with different Orchestras and shared the stage with some of the most famous local musicians such as Lira, Zonke Dikana, Mzansi Strings, McCoy Mrubata, Pretty Yende, Judith Sephuma, The Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and the late world class musician Dr Sibongile Khumalo. After many years of playing together and traveling the world, they then decided to start their own baby named "Mmino Strings" ,which is rooted from classical music and more capable of exploring other genres such as Gospel, House, Jazz, African traditional folk songs and Pop music. They pride themselves in contributing immensely to their surrounding communities through volunteering to perform at local schools, Orphanage and disability care centers. Each member takes highly to their passion and it is seen mostly through their immaculate performances at events and as well as their high achieving students in their respective private teaching jobs. Mmino Strings consists of nine members who play stringed instruments mainly:

- 2 Violists
- 4 Cellists
They do outsource instruments such as the Piano and saxophone where needs be, it is all at the discretion of our client. This vibrant group is packed with enthusiastic young musicians who are sending waves throughout the community and are attracting attention from children in their township who are inspired to pursue their dreams.
