Today, the people of our community came together to give the Old Lady , the Walter Battiss Museum a much-needed mini facelift.
The walls were whitewashed, the stage is ready, and once again this beautiful old space is prepared to bring tons and tons of joy through performance art, creativity and community.
We are incredibly proud of the Walter Battiss Festival Team for helping make this possible. What started with thousands of Jaffles, commitment, hard work and community spirit has turned into something we can all be proud of. ❤️
A very special THANK YOU to Cake & Make and everyone who supported and attended their events. Your contribution helped fund the products needed to whitewash these walls , proving once again that when a community participates, amazing things can happen.
Participation goes a long way.
It doesn’t only serve you — it serves your community too.
And remember:
✨ No little deed ever stays little. ✨
Today, Somerset East showed what can happen when we all play our part.
This is our museum. This is our community. This is our heritage. And together, we can keep it alive.
