The skies above Scarab Village are about to turn into a massive canvas of colour! We are absolutely thrilled to host the 10th edition of the Garden Route Kite Festival tomorrow, Sunday 18 October!

Bring the whole family down to the field for a spectacular day of kites, entertainment, and games in aid of Masithandane’s Bursary Fund.

Official Programme Highlights:

• 🎷 09:30 – Festival opens with live saxophone music by Beverley Fowler.

• 🌿 09:30 – Educational Nature Fun Walk for children with the Sedgefield Island Conservancy.

• 🪁 10:10 – The official RE/MAX Coastal Kite Launch, followed by the Mass Kite Fly at 10:20 (get your kites in the air!).

• 🐕 11:00 – The spectacular Happy Dogs Agility Show!

• 🏆 12:05 – Registration and building for the Recycled Kite Competition, with final judging and flying at 13h35.

• 🎶 14:00 – Live music from the Knysna Pipers, followed by local rising star Arancha Fortuin.

• 🪁 15:00 – The final "All Kinds of Kites" Mass Kite Fly before we wrap up at 15:30.

🎈 All-Day Fun: Enjoy continuous kite-flying demonstrations from international kiters, a great selection of food and craft stalls, face painting, a jumping castle, a slime table, and a bungee bounce trampoline!

So see you all at Scarab Village (just off the N2), Sedgefield, Sunday, 09:30 – 15:30

🎟️ Entry: R50 per adult, R20 per child (Tickets at the gate)
Pack your camping chairs or picnic blankets, bring your sunscreen, and settle in for an awesome day out!

The Garden Route Kite Festival is returning to Scarab Village, Sedgefield on Sunday, 18 October!
From 09:30 to 15:30, the skies will transform into a massive canvas of colour.

Professional kiters from across South Africa and around the globe are flying in to showcase their jaw-dropping creations. We aren't spoiling the surprise, but trust us—you have to see these spectacular designs to believe them! 😍
It is so much more than just kites. Bring the whole family for a packed programme of entertainment:

🐕 Dog Shows: Watch talented pups compete in agility, tricks, and hilarious dress-up contests!

🐴 Kids’ Fun: Pony interaction, face painting, games, and open kite-flying areas.

🍔 Food Stalls: A massive selection of yummy bites and treats to keep you fueled.

🎶 Live Music: Great tunes to keep the festive vibes going all day long.
