In 2025, Facing Forward won the Representation of Disability – Non-Scripted Film award, recognising the power of authentic storytelling that celebrates disability, inclusion and human resilience.⁠

Centred around the transformative impact of para surfing, Facing Forward follows the journey to the Para Surf 2024 competition, sharing the stories of athletes who have found healing, confidence and community through adaptive sport. The film was recognised for its powerful portrayal of inclusion, showcasing how resilience, accessibility and opportunity can empower individuals to thrive. It is a moving testament to ability, dignity and the strength of the human spirit.⁠
