Tonight’s Contemporary Workshop at with The Dance Collective was magic… introducing dancers to contemporary technique, floor work, movement quality, release, improvisation and storytelling through movement. Thank you the dancers enjoyed every minute!!

We couldn’t be prouder of who works unbelievably hard and gives so much of herself to her art. She consistently shows up, puts in the hours, stays dedicated to her training and continues to grow with such determination and passion.

Last night Chloe obtained 3rd place for her Jazz Solo at the WLDF Competition held at Roodepoort Theatre and we are absolutely thrilled for her achievement.

A beautiful reward for hard work, commitment and perseverance.

Such a special moment in class today … our Grade 1 exam girls received their beautiful new character skirts made by our lovely ballet supplier, Lyndsay, and the pure joy on their faces was absolutely priceless 🤍

There is something so magical about young dancers putting on their exam uniform pieces for the first time … suddenly the hard work, the practices, the counting, the corrections and the preparation all start to feel real.

The excitement, the twirling, the proud smiles and the little gasps of happiness filled the studio today and reminded me exactly why I love teaching children so much. These moments matter … building confidence, creating memories and making every dancer feel special as they work towards their RAD exams.

Today’s class was all about reciprocal training … dancers learning from one another through demonstrating exercises, counting music, correcting each other, encouraging one another and working together as a team.

Some of the most valuable growth happens when dancers begin to truly understand movement, not just perform it. Learning to observe, analyse, lead and support each other builds confidence, musicality, teamwork and deeper technical understanding.

We are so proud of the focus, maturity and kindness shown in class today … beautiful energy in the studio 🤍
