Good morning everyone.
Dance Cafe is busy with many outreach programs two of which are top of our list at the moment. We are working with a Gender based violence initiative in schools teaching young folk respect for self, one another and space through dance. This is our "In Touch" program working with Inala.
Our second is ongoing daily whereby we teach our wonderful 5 young men similar attributes, (their daily learning enables the above project to function, through various individuals' guidance and their ability to teach dance).
These young men as well as a very talented young lady called Ziyanda are able to progress their ability to teach by accomplishing various levels at the Dance Competitions. Their dance level is very important and these competitions expose them to many experiences and hopefully one day a World Championship.
To them and hopefully 10 more younger kids from Groutville (who the guys are proudly training), dance has become a lifeline out of so many horrible situations in their communities.
We are hoping to send 16 youngsters to the upcoming South African Country and Western Dancing National Championships in October in Amanzimtoti and honestly need a little assistance.
Any R50, R100 or more of course (smiley face) would be greatly appreciated.
I attach a cost estimate of how we can achieve this.
