I joined the Ladysmith troop on the 23rd of Dec and I was so thrilled to be a part of this iconic culture. Re troopile ga monate on the 26th Dec at the annual carnival and we took position 3!!

♦️♦️♦️ Makapanstad's dance competition is upon us!!!♦️♦️♦️

Ditrupa (troops) are dance groups that showcase their skills and talent on 26 December annually. The tradition started between World War I and World War II when the soldiers that came back from war would march to the chief's kingdom to announce their return. From then on, members of the community formed dance groups in honor of the troops.

Come witness the spirit of ditrupa!
