Franklin Players are a community theatre group based in Roosevelt Park, Johannesburg. The society has been running for over fifty years and puts on a variety of shows, from our mid year comedy to our big bang end of year musical, a festival of One Act Plays and many more. We aim to get community members active in the arts and welcome anyone who wants to join, regardless of experience.

Presented by The Isolated Photon

On the day of her 21st birthday, Naledz is asked by her mother to “make a wish and make it count.” Those words send her spiralling into memories of growing up under the pressure to achieve something extraordinary before time runs out. A comedic yet vulnerable autobiographical play explores the anxieties of a generation raised in the age of social media, where success is constantly measured against the achievements of others. Playing on the dual meaning of TikTok and the ticking of a clock, Tik Tok Naledz is a relatable reflection on ambition, comparison, and the race to make one’s mark before the clock strikes twelve.
