The Game
Pathological Beliefs is a 1st and 3rd person shooter video game created by Phumlani Mbabela (Solo developer & self publisher).
The story line is about destroying Bokoharam and freeing Bokoharam captives. It also educates the gaming community about the dangers of pathological beliefs. The game explains the psychology of extremism in an interactive fun and enjoyable way.
The story line is set in West Africa (Northern Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad) with an outer space "mythic science fiction" mission and real world missions. The game features a single player environment with elements of role-playing games. The player assumes the role of an Agent with multiple objectives to complete: one of the mission objectives involves destroying the Bokoharam military camps in West Africa and freeing Bokoharam’s hostages and captives. The agent will be faced with different challenges and obstacles before completing each of the missions.
The ultimate goal of the missions is for the Agent to understand the root causes of pathological beliefs and to prevent them from prevailing in the future.
