🐇✨ Some stories are written in chalk. Others are built with piñatas. ✨🐇
Two years ago, my partner Will Fick introduced me to Tshepo, the founder of Umbuyisa School of Arts and Culture. What started as a simple meeting between people who shared values quietly became the beginning of a much bigger story.
Will believed that his true riches lived in people — in the web of connections we weave through life. He called it a movement. He lived it, breathed it, and invited others to follow that yellow path with him.
When Will passed in June last year, that web didn’t break. It held.
In December, Umbuyisa launched their new branding, and the Rabbit honoured that moment — and Will — by gifting the school a giant piñata and sunflower seeds to plant in his memory. A small, heartfelt exchange from both sides… that became a seed of its own.
This memory of me standing in the schoolyard doing street chalk art with the kids, it felt full circle.
Chalk, like piñatas, comes in every colour — bold, soft, messy, joyful. Each colour on its own is beautiful, but together they tell a bigger story. A shared one.
While many were resting over the holidays, that seed began to sprout.
Now it’s growing into something joyful, collective, and brave:

From chalk on the ground, to colour in the air — this is how movement lives on.
This is how Will’s web keeps weaving. ❣️
