Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80, her family announced on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She reportedly died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee. Parton leaves behind a career spanning nearly six decades, with iconic songs including "Jolene," "9 to 5," "Coat of Many Colors" and"| Will Always Love You." She sold more than 100 million records worldwide and won 11 Grammy Awards. Beyond music, the Tennessee-born star was an actress, businesswoman and major philanthropist. Her Imagination Library literacy programme has provided hundreds of millions of free books to children, while her business empire included the Dollywood theme park. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Her family has indicated that a private funeral service will be held for immediate family.
