The Mantón in Dance
A Living Instrument: In flamenco, the shawl is not merely a costume piece; it functions as an expressive partner that accentuates the dancer's movements and draws dramatic lines in the air.
Technique: Dancing with a mantón is highly challenging and physically demanding. It requires immense upper-body strength, ribcage mobility, and coordination. Dancers must master specific techniques—such as the "stirring the pot" movement—to keep the heavy silk and fringes draping smoothly around their bodies.

FELIZ NAVIDAD 🎄 Year-End fun filled ALIANZA FLAMENCA flamenco event is here again! ❤

Join us on Sunday, 30th November for an unforgettable afternoon celebrating the passion and rhythm of flamenco.

💃 All our Johannesburg studios will be performing, bringing vibrant energy and artistry to the stage. 🎶 Expect a lively mix of dance performances, delicious food, a mini flamenco class, and plenty of time to connect with friends and family.

🎟 Tickets include a curated tapas set menu and a jug of Sangria per table!
