Tomorrow, we write the third chapter of the Vino Camino story.

Every year we take another step forward. Every year a little better. Every year more stories are shared, more friendships are made, and more remarkable South African w**es find their way into waiting glasses.

The Karoo is looking magnificent and we're ready to welcome you to Prince Albert.
Expect beautiful, balmy winter days, but don't forget to pack a warm jacket or a few extra layers for our crisp Karoo evenings.

Before you travel:
Please remember our one important rule: No drinking while walking. Finish your tasting before leaving each venue.
Check the latest road conditions and any closures before you depart.
Be sure to pop into the night market eats and drinks: from 4 to 9.
Travel safely, take your time and enjoy the journey.

We can't wait to welcome you tomorrow.
Here's to another unforgettable Vino Camino.

We encourage you to enjoy the Camino and walk (it's only 2km spread out over two@days), but if need a rest, hop on to@the shuttle (4 point marked with blue flags) - no@lore excuses for not getting everywhere.

The camino does not have a starting or end point - walk as wish - zig-zag is fine as well!

Please be safe!

Included in your bag is:
• armband that gives you access to all producers for w**e tasting and direct interactions with the w**e producers;
• a real w**e glass (and you can buy more to complete a set)
• a map of the town showing venues, attraction, the shuttle stops and where you can find the producers
• a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Please refill at the venues to limit waste. Our water comes out of the Swartbert and safe to drink
• this year's Vino Camino w**e – a limited edition bottle of w**e from Peter Falke.

Your ticket also
• allows you to use the shuttle - look out for the blue hop-on-hop-off flags at 4 points along the way. The shuttle will not deviate from the route and will only stop at the designated stops.
• gives you an automatic entry into the lucky draw to win some w**e.

A portion of the ticket price goes directly to a local NPO – ensuring we can make a meaningful contribution that will make a real difference.

We wish you a happy tasting weekend, and while you are, please remember the "rules of the road".

South African law requires all w**e to be enjoyed within the licensed venues. Please finish your tasting before moving on to the next stop. By respecting this simple rule, you help ensure that I can welcome you back for many Vino Caminos to come.

Every Community Has Its Roots

From the Karoo, Local Roots is exactly what its name promises — a celebration of what is grown, made and created close to home. From local produce to locally made goods and honest farm-to-table flavours, this is a place firmly rooted in its community and the land around it.

That local connection continues into the glass with Axe Hill, whose vineyards lie just outside Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo, alongside the distinctive w**es of Piekenierskloof from the rugged mountains of the Citrusdal region.

SWARTBERG PASS ETIQUETTE

Special times. Special circumstances. A very special road.

If you're taking this spectacular route to Prince Albert, please travel slowly, patiently and courteously.

Give way to vehicles travelling uphill where possible.
Use the nearest safe passing place — common sense and safety come first.
Look well ahead and anticipate approaching vehicles.
Slow down before blind corners and hairpin bends.
Keep left and give one another as much space as possible.
If someone needs to reverse, work together to reach the nearest safe, wider section.

Most importantly, don't rush the journey.

The Swartberg Pass was never designed to carry the volume of traffic it is currently experiencing. A little patience from every traveller will help protect the Pass, keep everyone moving safely and preserve this extraordinary route for generations to come.

Travel safely. Enjoy the journey. We'll see you in Prince Albert.

Every Home Opens Its Doors

Part guest house, part gathering place and part treasure chest, Prince Albert Country Store offers plenty of reasons to visit. Alongside its relaxed Karoo hospitality, its antique store is well worth exploring – you never quite know what piece of history or unexpected find might catch your eye.

The w**e discoveries are equally rewarding, with three distinctive producers pouring here, including Diners Club W**emaker of the Year 2025 Coenie Snymand with his lable Rock of Eye.

Every Journey Is an Invitation to Discover

Part of PACT, brings together a cooking school, restaurant and retail space in one creative destination where food is made, shared, taught and celebrated. It’s a place to taste, learn, browse and linger — with the relaxed, contemporary energy of a new generation of Prince Albert hospitality.

And the w**e line-up promises discovery of its own. Three distinctly different producers, three individual approaches to w**e, and plenty to talk about as you taste your way through them.
