A creative platform hosted as monthly events to provide opportunities to poets, musicians, singers and artists of many mediums, amateur or professional.

Just over four years ago, Die Dowe Digters was started by Abjater Ronkedoor (Andries De Beer) as an informal platform for creative writers, poets, musicians, composers, songwriters, and many other artists to give them the opportunity for basic exposure of their work. The Facebook group has also been maintained, where any person / member of the group can freely go and post poems, ideas or lyrics. The more prominent activity undertaken by Die Dowe Digters are the events hosted every month as a creative platform for artists of many mediums, where every person who attends the event, amateur or professional, has the opportunity to climb on the stage and perform some of their work. Die Dowe Digters welcomes poets, singers, musicians and also visual artists. The evening has grown immensely since it started and many developments have established Die Dowe Digters as regularity on the Pretoria events calendar. The evenings usually start off with the MC describing the flow of the evening to the audience and then opening the stage by reading a poem. The stage and microphone is then open to anybody and everybody. If the open microphone period ends, a guest artist or more established headline act usually plays a full set and entertains the crowd until the end of the evening/event. This also gives the crowd and other artists the chance to build contacts or working relationships and mingle with established people in their medium and industry.

Magé has a captivating songwriting style and a magnetic stage presence. Her songs have a way of transporting you to places you didn’t know existed, places you’ll never want to return from.

We’ll be opening the afternoon with an open mic, where everyone is welcome to share their poetry, songs, and stories. No sign-up required, just bring yourself and your words.

Come spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon beneath the vula tree, surrounded by good music, heartfelt stories, delicious food, and great company.

The night begins with Aya Nixon, who will take the stage with an opening set before Tea & Oranges perform with a full band. The set will feature their full album, alongside some of their favourite covers.

With winter creeping in, there will be cozy fires to gather around and keep warm, adding to the atmosphere of the evening.

We’ll be starting strictly at 8pm, so come early, settle in, and make an evening of it.

Food will be available from the , and there’ll be a cash bar throughout the night.
