The Oil Lamp Workshop holds a very special place in my heart. 🤍

Throughout Scripture, oil was never just oil. It was a symbol of God's presence, His anointing and His Spirit.

Oil was also poured into a lamp so that it could give light.

That is the heart behind this workshop. As we shape the clay, I pray that we are reminded that His presence fills us, not to be hidden, but so that His light may shine through us.

Om getuienisse soos hierdie te hoor maak my so dankbaar en opgewonde om te sien hoe Hy elke persoon ontmoet in die spasie wat Hy my gelei het om te skep.

Dit is vir my 'n voorreg om te sien hoe mense deur kreatiwiteit, stilte en tyd in Sy
teenwoordigheid aangeraak word.

Dankie aan elkeen wat al een van ons werkswinkels bygewoon het. Dankie dat julle deel is van hierdie reis.

Ek sien uit daarna om nog baie getuienisse van God se goedheid, genesing en herstel te hoor. 🤍

At Ahavah Art Studio, every workshop has been thoughtfully created with its own purpose. While each experience is different, they all share the same invitation: to slow down, create with intention and make space for God's presence.

A workshop that reflects on surrender, worship and offering our hearts to the Lord.
🕯 The Oil Lamp
A reminder that oil was never meant to remain hidden. As it fills the lamp, it produces light. Together we reflect on God's presence, His anointing and the light we are called to carry.
🎨 The Canvas Journey
A gentle invitation to pause and simply enjoy the process. There is no pressure to perform, only the quiet joy of creating one brushstroke at a time.

Word of the Month: מְנוֹרָה | Menorah 🤍

The Menorah is more than a lamp stand. It is a symbol of being a carrier of God's light.
It did not create light on its own. It was continually filled with oil so that it could shine.
In the same way, we are not called to manufacture God's light. We are called to remain connected to Him so that His Spirit fills us and His light shines through us.

"You are the light of the world."
Matthew 5:14

Our studio doors are open once again and my heart couldn't be happier. 🤍

After a quiet month away with my family, I am looking forward to welcoming you back to the studio for a new season of creating, reflecting and encountering God through art.

Our August workshop dates are now live and registrations are officially open:
- Alabaster Jar Workshop: 2, 4, 16 and 18 August
- Oil Lamp Workshop: 6, 20 and 30 August
- Canvas Journey Workshop: (2 day workshop) 10-11 & 24-25 August

If you've visited Ahavah Art Studio, you've probably noticed Aliki's beautiful donkey painting in the studio.

This August, it becomes The Canvas Journey, a brand new two-session creative experience.

More than a Paint by Numbers workshop, it is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and spend unhurried time with the Lord. As each brushstroke is added, the artwork unfolds layer by layer, reminding us that God often works in our own hearts the very same way.

I cannot wait to welcome you into this new creative journey.

Something new is coming to Ahavah Art Studio this August 🤍

The Canvas Journey
Creating in His Presence, Layer by Layer

Rather than rushing to finish in a single sitting, we intentionally allow the painting to unfold layer by layer—just as God’s work in our own hearts often unfolds over time.
Over two gentle sessions, you will bring a beautiful artwork by the gifted artist, Aliki, to life. But the goal isn't simply to finish a painting. It is to embrace the process.

Layer by layer.

As each colour finds its place on the canvas, we are reminded that God often works in our own hearts the same way. Patiently. Intentionally. Faithfully.

Each brushstroke becomes an opportunity to pause.
To reflect.
To listen.
To simply be with Him.

Because some of the most beautiful things are formed slowly.

The Alabaster Jar 🤍

More than a clay workshop, the Alabaster Jar invites us to reflect on the woman who brought her alabaster jar to Jesus and poured out what was most precious to her.
As we slowly shape the clay, we remember that worship is often found in surrender. The jar becomes a symbol of offering, devotion, and a heart fully yielded to Him.
The workshop flows gently from arrival to completion. There is time to settle, reflect, create, and allow the process of working with clay to quiet the noise of everyday life.

No experience is needed. Just a willingness to come as you are.

In a world that often asks us to hold on tightly, the alabaster jar reminds us of the beauty found in pouring out what we carry before the Lord.
