It’s always the black people who don’t even have a white friend who are the first to want to date white once they’ve made enough money for white people to overlook their blackness.
It’s always the black people who’ve never been to a multiracial school and haven’t lived in suburbs who can’t imagine themselves living among other black people, because it somehow devalues their new lifestyle and status of being accepted within white circles and communities.
This mindset is often shaped by years of propaganda, perception, and internalised self-hate that subtly suggest that another race is better, more desirable, or more worthy. Over time, these influences can distort how people see themselves and their own identity.
Black child, class will not change your racial status. Rather, learn to love yourself before you try projecting your self-hate onto the rest of us who love ourselves and our blackness.
