The Youth Dance Company of Tshwane is dedicated to providing student ballet dancers the valuable performance experience needed to develop each dancer to their fullest artistic potential. The Youth Dance Company helps bridge the gap between ballet sch

ool and the professional stage by providing children with the stage exposure they need. The Youth Dance Company's mission is to:
nurture and enhance the lives of our youth through ballet;
establish a professional classical and contemporary youth ballet company; and
encourage and develop new choreographers. We are committed to the belief that dance improves confidence, concentration, coordination, memorisation and discipline. The Youth Dance Company strives to work with local organizations to expand its outreach programs and to create arts awareness and training opportunities to a broader multi-cultural constituency.

My name is Alyve and I'm 16 years old. I'm in grade 10 and go to Pretoria High School for Girls(PHSG).
I started dancing at the young age of 6 and that consisted of ballet, tap, lyrical, and acro. I resumed dancing in 2022 at my school after I hadn't danced during COVID-19. I'm really grateful for YDCT because it has given me the opportunity to get a preview of how dancing in a professional company would look and I really can't wait!
One of my other hobbies is reading.
