There are quite a number of reasons why musicians and record labels are opting to release music digitally as opposed to releasing Compact Discs. The main reason being the fact that digital distribution helps to cut costs on printing, packaging and the pressing of CDs.

Trap music, a sub-genre underneath the Hip Hop umbrella that originated in Atlanta in the 90s. In the beginning, the term ‘Trap’ was associated with drug dealing – As the term ‘Trap’ is a slang term used to describe an abandoned house at which drugs are peddled - however recent times have seen the word shift from being associated with drug dealing to being associated with Hip Hop music that consists of 808 kick drums, thunderous bass and samples that bring out a cinematic effect.

Sandile Khubeka, popularly known by his stage name Du Bois, is a hip hop artist who hails from Newcastle in Kwa-Zulu Natal. His journey as a musician started in 2008 when he joined forces with music producer Thabo Mlangeni, also known as Big Tzet. The two spent the greatest part of their partnership distributing their music throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal until their big break came in 2015 when Du Boiz joined entertainment company Emabalabala Entertainment also known as Mabala Noise.
