The program at WRMStudio consists of three main components - Practical Performance, Music Theory and Technical Training. Technical Training can be further divided into Aural Training, Rhythmic Skill and Musicianship. The lessons are structured in 45 minute sessions where most of the time is spent on Practical Performance. Here you will learn about posture, body movement and finger positioning. You
will learn how to critically assess the music you are playing in order to get the most out of the music you will be making. In Theory you will learn to understand how the musical language work - from writing notes and all musical signs to identifying structures and styles in music and how to use them in writing your own music. In Aural Training we will sharpen your listening skills. You will learn to identify intervals in music as well as certain musical modes and beats. This will, in turn, help you to listen better to your playing and will also open up your mind in how you perceive sound differently. Before you know it, you will listen to your favorite pop or rock songs more intensely and with more gratification. In Music History, you will learn about different musical styles as well as the composers that created them. You will learn how music came to existence and how it has evolved throughout the course of society. In Sociology you will learn why these changes were brought forth and what societal circumstances contributed to what music is today. You will also learn how it impacts our musical world today as well as the industry that exists presently. This might sound like a lot of work (and it is) but it will be taught differently than you might be used to. At WRMStudio we will combine fun, intuitive ways to learn about music adding technology to the pot as well - all in the comfort of your own home. Nowadays every person has a tablet or smart phone, giving them access to a world of media and entertainment. We will use exactly this technology in order get the most out of your music experience. After each lesson, you as student will receive critical, yet constructive feedback on your progress. This will have all the instructions on how to practice each piece you are mastering, what technical abilities you need to focus on as well as a good guide on how to master the theory taught. This will also have all your homework you need to complete. All you have to do is to print the pages and put it into your file. Together with this, you will get links to the student blog on accessing video and audio clips that is specifically tailored to the work you are doing. You will also have access to your progress chart, that will track how well you are doing. I am also just a Skype call away should you have any problems with the worked discussed during the week and will assist when I am available. Not only do you get a personal teacher, teaching you in the comfort of your home at the piano you know, but you also get to build up an electronic manual that you can use and refer back to throughout your whole music career. Furthermore, you get a teacher on call for all your queries.
