A proud moment for Beautiful Things. Deputy President Paul Mashatile and Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, visited our exhibition on Day 1 of the G20 Social Summit at Birchwood Conference Centre. Their presence is a meaningful affirmation of the work being done to uplift and invest in South Africa’s craft economy. We’re here until 20 November, celebrating the hands, stories, and heritage behind every piece.

The Beautiful Things Exhibition is showcasing at the G20 Social Summit at the Birchwood Conference Centre from 18 to 20 November 2025. The summit focuses on Solidarity, Equality, and Sustainability, with themes centred on inclusive growth, poverty reduction, and building a capable, ethical, and developmental state.

Through this showcase, Beautiful Things continues to champion South Africa’s craft sector by elevating artisans, celebrating cultural heritage, and demonstrating the role that creative industries play in driving social and economic development.

From a powerful opening night to two weeks of incredible support, the Crafting Heritage: A Beautiful Things Showcase came to a close on the 10th of October 2025.

Your support turned creativity into a livelihood and reminded us of the true value of handmade, homegrown craft.

The exhibition may be closed, but the shelves at the Beautiful Things store at the Ditsong National Museum of Cultural History in Pretoria are still full.

The Crafting Heritage Showcase has officially come to an end. What began as a one-week exhibition evolved into something truly special, thanks to every person who visited, purchased, shared, or simply cheered us on.

The exhibition may be closed, but your journey with us doesn’t have to end here. You can still explore and purchase these handcrafted pieces at the Beautiful Things store inside the Ditsong National Museum of Cultural History in Pretoria.

Beautiful Things Exhibition has been extended until 10 October 2025 due to popular demand!

What began as a one-week showcase has sparked a wave of support, curiosity and appreciation for South African craftsmanship. Thanks to the incredible response from visitors, the doors will remain open — but only for a little longer.

If you haven’t been yet, here’s what awaits you:
* Handcrafted ceramics, beadwork, textiles, woodwork and contemporary design pieces
* A blend of heritage and modern living, from home décor to wearable craft
* Makers’ stories woven into every stitch, bead and carving
