For the upcoming artists in the Western Cape — this one’s for you:

*1. Your scene is slept on, which means it’s yours to own*
Cape Town, Stellenbosch, George, Mitchells Plain… there’s talent everywhere but not enough people pushing it. If you start building now, you become the name people point to later. “Yeah, I was there before they blew up.”

*2. You don’t need R1000 to start*
R10 from 50 people = R500 for ads, a better thumbnail, or a feature. SASounDWesT is literally saying “even R10 helps.” Use what you have. Phone camera + clean audio + one good idea beats waiting for a studio.

*3. Western Cape has sound, but no one’s packaging it right*
Gqom, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, Afro-house — it’s all here. The artists who win are the ones who treat it like a business: consistent drops, short clips for TikTok/Reels, and asking for support without shame.

*4. Support each other or stay invisible*
Collab, share each other’s posts, donate R10 to the next artist. The algorithm and the industry notice when a scene moves together. Lone wolves get ignored.

You’re in a province with beaches, mountains, and studios full of hungry kids. Use that energy.

What kind of music are you making out there in the Western Cape?🇿🇦
