Curating Committee

She is part of the curating committee which entails collecting, selecting and layout of the artworks for the exhibition.

If you need a fishing partner, she is your girl!

She is very drawn to the art of Gustav Klimt. As she loves the intimacy he captures in his work and that is something she also would like to achieve in her artworks.

Apparently pink is the colour which suits her the best and most of her wardrobe consists of pink, but the irony is that she hates pink!

Curating & Catering Committee

She will be responsible for labeling all the artworks accordingly as well as setting up the exhibition.

She doesn’t get the heebie-jeebies quite often, as she loves watching and reading true crime documentaries and books.

Her inspiration is Frida Khalo - what a woman! Khalo taught her to be herself and to be proud of what other people might consider imperfections.
Wherever Amanda goes she brings stability, calmness, as well as encourages you to endure. This is what green, her favourite colour aslo symbolises.
PS: She is also a born model!

Media and Publicity Liaison

Along with Lízeri, she is part of the media committee that is responsible for everything that you see on social media, as well as the design, blood, sweat and tears going into all of publications, distributive posters and posts.

She has a very weird talent: She can move her ears without using her hands. Please ask her for a demonstration when you meet her!

Vincent van Gogh is one Imani’s main inspirations because he loved the Lord and his use of colour. She is also very influenced by William Kentridge and his works.

One of her goals is to inspire, educate and empower students to improve and develop their artistic skills. As a result, she hopes to see her learners make a difference in the realm of art and applying their skills at any opportunity they may have in the future. In many ways, art connects with people, serves as an escape and influences our world.

Lízeri is part of the Media Committee which entails the designing of the posters, invitations, and distribution thereof. She will be our lovely and energetic MC for the grand opening of the exhibition and will help with all the exhibition exposé.

She has a sharp sense of humour and is obsessed with anything Chai related.

Salvador Dali is her inspiration because not only do they share the same birthdate, but his artworks are mesmerizing and inspirational to her.

The colour that best describes Lízeri is teal because she is a bright and bubbly person.

For the exhibition she will fulfill the role of one of the chief curators which entail the big decision making, reporting back to the rest of the group and oversee all of the processes. All of the posts that you are reading were written and proofread by her! Furthermore, she is also part of the opening ceremony committee that entails creating the program for the day and final organizing for the grand opening.

She is most excited about showcasing our artworks for the year. Showing all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears that accompany the process of creativity and art and how all of the elements come together to create an awe-filled artwork. As well as working together with this dynamic group of ladies to host such an amazing event in every artist and art teacher's career.

People usually tell me that my laugh is funnier than the joke.

Visual art for education means that every child is a creator, every child is an artist in their own way and they need to be taught to pursue that creativity, in whatever form it comes in. In Visual Art children are encouraged to be themselves, be outside of their boxes, explore and see how things influence them in a certain way. To explore, to test theories, to produce things is what Visual Arts should be about. And teaching children to use their imagination and be their complete selves. We are there to be their guide through finding themselves, their voices and the mark that they want to leave in this world. We are merely their guiding wind by which they will be able to sail with and explore this world.

She loves the colour burgundy: it is deep, mysterious, inviting, loving, comforting, daring, sometimes in your face, soft and empowering. These are all the traits she exhibits and strives to be like.

Opening and Catering committee.

Carmi is one of our chief curators which oversees the whole process of organizing the exhibition and performances for the grand opening. She is also a part of the catering and opening ceremony committees.

She is excited to share the hard work and end results of the exhibition with her family.

Leonid Afremov is her inspiration due to his vibrant colour palette and use of emotion in his artworks. Her dream is to one day paint like him.

Art helps learners find inner peace by letting out their emotions on a blank paper.

Accompanying Lizeri, she will also be a Master of Committees as well as ensuring that everything runs smoothly on opening night.
She is most excited for the duende moment of the artworks: being surrounded by her own art and witnessing how her artworks will move people to feel, think, ask questions and induce curiosity.
Azania is our little daydreamer, Ms. Hesse can testify of this.
She is her own inspiration. She is highly influenced by her emotions, experiences and history. She believes she is the holder of the paintbrush and the one in charge of all the limitless artworks that she can create.
What Visual art for education personally means to her is that everyone has an opportunity to work with no limits, rules and expectations to creativity. It is a deep form of expression in a way that words can't communicate, educate or understand what we are as human beings, our influences and how we relate to one another.

Meet Lieze
She is in charge of the nitty gritty things and will be working behind the scenes to ensure that everything goes according to plan. She will also be the boss of spending money!

From a young age she has been inspired by her mother to create and she was always encouraged to be herself, just like Frida Kahlo.

A fun fact about Lieze is that she gets goosebumps when touching ice. She is always up to date with fashion and our own fashionista!

For her, art is a way to express that which the mind sees.

Art allows you to explore the unthinkable and the impossible. We believe in promoting creativity and critical thinking as well as creating a safe harbour for our learners to be their absolute best selves. Art is so much more than just drawing, painting and sculpting; it is about creating and being innovative.
