The ECPO 2026 Youth Orchestra Experience is almost here!🎻🎺🎼

We are incredibly excited for the upcoming ECPO Youth Orchestra Experience, taking place between 29 September til 3 October. Maestro Eddie Clayton is this year's guest conductor. This a week dedicated to inspiring, challenging and celebrating South Africa's young orchestral musicians.

Participants can look forward to intensive rehearsals, expert mentorship from leading conductors and professional orchestral musicians, inspiring masterclasses, and the opportunity to perform alongside passionate young musicians from across the Eastern Cape.

Stay tuned as we share highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and concert updates throughout the experience.

Youth Concerto Festival (ECPO) 💛🎻🎶

A massive thank you to the city of Gqeberha, for coming out and supporting the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra (ECPO). The concert was a true celebration of talented young musicians from across the Eastern Cape. Well done to the 9 amazing young soloists who performed alongside the ECPO under the baton of Jason Edward Atherton.

Last Night of the Proms in Africa 🎻

What an unforgettable experience! The Last Night of the Proms in Africa (ECPO), held on 30 May 2025 in the Feather Market Centre, was a phenomenal success (SOLD OUT) - all thanks to the incredible community of Gqeberha!

The concert featured maestro Richard C**k (Richard C**k), and the fantastic ECPO, soloists, pipers, massed choir and more! All the funds raised go towards the provision of palliative care to Hospice patients in the Gqeberha and Kouga regions

A heartfelt thank you once again to St Francis Hospice, Port Elizabeth and to every single supporter who bought tickets. Your presence created a memorable experience.

A massive thank you to the city of Gqeberha, for coming out and supporting the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra (ECPO). The concert was a true celebration of talented young musicians from across the Eastern Cape. The concert also celebrated 'Youth Month'.

Well done to the 9 amazing young soloists who performed alongside the ECPO under the baton of Jason Edward Atherton (who also suprised the audience with a guest performace), the winner of the 6th National South African Conductors' Competition.
