For many months Avril was locked up in her flat, half-starved. She was beaten with a chain and a wooden pole. She was burnt with boiling water and tortured so badly that she required emergency plastic surgery repair to her face. Finally Avril was rescued by neighbours who heard her constantly crying, weeping and moaning – they kicked open the door and what met their eyes left the neighbours in tears and weeping

Now Avril speaks out for the first time since her ordeal.
