The uMgungundlovu G**s & Le***an Film Festival (UGLFF) is a proudly Pietermaritzburg-based event in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Created to provide a vital platform for local and African filmmakers, the Festival celebrates and amplifies the voices of the LGBTIQ community through the power of film.
We invite filmmakers to submit short and feature-length films to be showcased during the Festival, which will take place from 15–16 November 2025 across various venues in Pietermaritzburg. Eligible films must have been completed between 1 November 2023 and 2025.

We accept:
Short films
Feature films
Documentary films
Each submission must be a minimum of 5 minutes not exceed 120 minutes in duration. All entries must be submitted by an official representative of the film.

Feature Films
Short Films
Fiction & Non-Fiction
Only films completed on or after 1 May 2023 will be eligible for submission, including those completed in 2024, and 2025.
