Tikwiri Mountain doesn't have a big written history like Tsanzaguru - it's a small kopje / railway siding hill near Rusape in Makoni.

What we know:

- It's in *Makoni District* under Chief Makoni, Headman Dzvairo area - same area as Tsanzaguru. So its history is tied to the *Makoni chieftainship* and the *Rozvi Empire* (1684-1866).

- The whole area from Nyazura to Rusape was part of the Rozvi's eastern edge. The Rozvi, under Changamire D***o, controlled trade routes and built power on hills - hills = royalty and power. That's why Tsanzaguru's story of "trying to build to the moon" comes from Rozvi.

- Tikwiri is also known as *Mutikwiri* - that "Mu-" prefix usually means big or mother hill in Shona. It's granite kopje country, like most of Manicaland - used as lookout, burial sites for chiefs, and during liberation war as bases.

- During colonial time, it became a railway siding on the Harare-Mutare line - that's why you see it listed as "Tikwiri Siding" at 1,345m
