As we say goodbye to Women’s Month 2026, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team behind this year’s Klein Karoo Klassique.

It was a pleasure to bring the festival to life, and we had so much fun along the way. Thank you to everyone who helped make Klassique 2026 such a special celebration of music, literature, art, food and wine.

We look forward to welcoming festival friends back to Oudtshoorn for another unforgettable Klein Karoo Klassique next year!

Die “Klassique Galakonsert” was ’n groot hoogtepunt op Klein Karoo Klassique se musiekprogram.

Oudtshoorn se Burgersentrum was volgepak vir die terugkeer van die Kaapstadse Filharmoniese Orkes onder leiding van Richard C**k, saam met pianis François du Toit. Hulle het werke van Mozart en Mendelssohn uitgevoer, met François du Toit as solis in Mozart se Klavierkonsert nr. 24 in C-mineur.

Die program is afgesluit met Mendelssohn se geliefde “Italiaanse” Simfonie.

André van der Merwe, een van Suid-Afrika se voorste koorleiers, het na afloop van Klein Karoo Klassique ’n werksessie vir koorleiers uit die Klein Karoo en Tuinroete aangebied, met die ondersteuning van die ATKV.

Dit was ’n inspirerende oggend en ’n unieke geleentheid om nuwe idees, praktiese vaardighede en vars inspirasie te ontdek. Dié sessie is bygewoon deur verteenwoordigers van skoolkore, gemeenskapskore, kerkkore en kleiner ensembles.

“Ek d**k kore, veral in die Suid-Afrikaanse-konteks, is regtig belangrik, want dit is onlosmaaklik deel van die gemeenskap waarvandaan ons kom. Vir my gebeur in koorsang die sterkste vorm van nasiebou, want jy maak letterlik harmonie saam, jy luister na mekaar, jy sing mekaar se tale. Ek d**k dit is groei by uitstek.”

Verrassings deur die Oudtshoorn Rewolusie was regoor Klein Karoo Klassique se feeskern te sien.

Van tafelversierings met Karoo-plante gemaak uit wol, materiaal en geverfde klippe, tot komberse, ’n tjello en ander elemente – dié projek se handewerk het feesgangers verbaas.

Ondersteun hierdie inisiatief deur ’n donasie te maak, skenk ’n bol wol om die besondere gemeenskapsprojek verder te laat groei – of sluit aan by die span en word deel van die ReWOLusie.

Uitsonderlike musiek verdien uitsonderlike kos. DĂ­t is presies wat Nostalgie Restaurant tydens Klein Karoo Klassique in die Banketsaal aan feesgangers gebied het.

Elke dag het begin met ’n heerlike ontbyt in die feesrestaurant, gevolg deur middagete en die immergewilde skep-en-weeg buffet vir aandete. Soetgoed en southappies was deurlopend beskikbaar.

Hartlike Klein Karoo-gasvryheid en die smake van Klein Karoo Klassique het dié ervaring afgerond.
