🎯 Target: Grade 3 – Grade 9 learners

About Philippi Arts Centre
Philippi Arts Centre is a community-based arts and cultural organisation committed to creating opportunities for children, young people, artists and the broader Philippi community through arts, culture, creative development, education and community programmes.
We are seeking experienced, passionate and community-minded professionals to join our Board of Advisers and contribute strategic knowledge, professional expertise, networks and resources towards the growth and sustainability of the Centre.

We are particularly inviting applications from professionals in:

Key Responsibilities
Members of the Board of Advisers will be expected to:
Provide strategic advice and professional guidance to Philippi Arts Centre.
Assist the organisation in strengthening its governance, policies, systems and sustainability.
Use professional knowledge and networks to identify partnerships, funding and development opportunities.
Support fundraising and resource mobilisation initiatives.
Advocate for the Centre and its programmes within professional, business and community networks.
Attend and actively participate in Board of Advisers meetings.
Provide advice on organisational risks, opportunities and strategic priorities.
Assist with developing partnerships with government, private sector, foundations, NGOs and other stakeholders.
Promote opportunities for artists, children and young people in Philippi.
Maintain the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, accountability and professionalism.

FUNDRAISING & RESOURCE MOBILISATION REQUIREMENT
Each appointed Adviser will be expected to mobilise or contribute resources with a minimum value of R20,000 per annum towards Philippi Arts Centre.
This contribution does not have to be cash. It may include:
Direct financial contributions;
Sponsorships secured from companies or organisations;
Professional services;

Equipment or materials;
Venue or facility support;
Marketing and advertising support;
Training and capacity-building;
Technology or digital services;
Transport or logistical support;
In-kind donations; or
Other resources that directly benefit the Centre.
The R20,000 requirement is a resource-mobilisation target and not a personal membership fee or payment to Philippi Arts Centre.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants should:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have relevant professional, technical, business, community or sector experience.
Demonstrate a genuine commitment to arts, culture and community development.
Have good professional and community networks.
Be willing to contribute time, knowledge and expertise.
Be able to participate in meetings and strategic activities.
Demonstrate strong ethical standards and integrity.
Be willing and able to assist with resource mobilisation of at least R20,000 in value.
Have no conflict of interest that would compromise their advisory responsibilities.
Previous experience serving on a board, committee, advisory structure, NGO or community organisation will be an advantage.
