IngomDev

IngomDev Arts Ingomso Film Skills and Youth Development is a project that is designed to develop young rural people in dance, musical theatre, and film making.

We come from an oral tradition, where our forefathers told stories around big fires while passing on cultures and tradition to future generations. As a result of this, there was nothing that was documented as reference for future generations. Through this project, we want the young people to learn and realize how important it is to tell their stories. In this evolving time, the youth need to know

that only an African can tell a truly authentic African Story. We want to make films that are told by Africans for Africans. Although we appreciate African stories being told by outsiders, we would prefer our stories to be told by people who see our cultures through their own lens, and end up claiming the glory for stories that belong to Africans.
