We all know that children who grow up with absent-fathers can suffer lasting damage and sometimes it is the reason why most children don't succeed in life. Tiego Moses Maffa, 20 years, known as "Kuptanation", the name was inspired by his dance teacher, King Kupta Makarina. Kuptanation has had a tremendous home situation growing up with an absent father who died when he was young, the misfortune kept him motivated until his mother disowned him as she has been treating him unfairly.
He was raised by his late grandmother, Florah Masenya. "I had to leave school at the age of 16 to look for a hustle for myself and I found a job at The Village Square & Chisanyama, working at The Village has been a blessing to me, because it is where I found my passion as a Dj". Kuptanation had to find a way to survive in this tough times and finally found a way as he was taught to be a Dj, now he's signed with Cartel Records and has constant bookings.
"If I get sound equipment, I will be able to make a fortune in my life, I'm good with amapiano and lekompo music. My job at Cartel Records really changed my life, this got me a sustainable income and a clear vision for myself and now I know that this is the path I have been looking for". Sometimes God want us to grow through very difficult times so that we will know how to be grateful for the blessings he gives.
