This message comes from a heavy heart.
Running a dance studio has always been my dream something I’ve dedicated time, energy, and love to since I was a child. But lately, I’ve been deeply hurt by the negativity, disrespect, and unkind words being shared behind backs between dancers, parents, and even about me.
I always try to make things as affordable and inclusive as possible. I give up my time, make sacrifices, and work hard to create a safe space where creativity and growth can thrive. But when that space is filled with judgment, gossip, and a lack of appreciation, it takes away the joy that dance is meant to bring.
This environment cannot continue as it is. If things do not change if kindness, respect, and support don’t become the foundation of this community I will have no choice but to close the studio. Because a toxic space is not one I can ask any child, parent, or teacher to be part of. And it’s certainly not something I want to lead.
Please take a moment to reflect on your role in this community. Let’s rebuild, or we will lose something very special.
