A Celebration of Life at Hartland House of Events

Recently, we had the honour of hosting a very special and deeply personal celebration of life at Hartland, for someone incredibly close to our hearts, Elize du Plessis known to her family as Liesie, the beloved aunt of our owner, Laurika.

With heavy hearts, but deep gratitude, we share Laurika’s words:

“Liesie was Hartland se
grootste ondersteuner…
sy het alles gedeel, alles geglo en altyd met soveel trots van Hartland gepraat.

Een van my heel moeilikste funksies by Hartland…
maar in dieselfde asem my grootste voorreg
om Liesie se lewe op aarde te kon vier en afsluit.

My lekkerste herinnering was toe ek ’n klein dogtertjie was en sy vir my “jam blikke, vis blikke” gesing het, eindelose vermaak terwyl ek pertjie op haar been ry.

Ek onthou ook die vroeë oggende wanneer Irma netbal moes speel en Liesie die skool bederf het met haar tuisgebakte vetkoeke en maalvleis… sy was die heel beste daarin.

Daar is nog soveel stories, soveel lag en soveel liefde wat ek vir altyd sal koester.

Liesie, jy was ’n Spreuke 31-vrou, lief vir jou Voorsiener; jou man en kinders was jou lewe.
Altyd, maar altyd gelag… altyd plek in jou huis en jou hart vir nog ’n ekstra asem. En vir my soos ñ moeder.

Ek verlang reeds na elke oggend en aand se prentjieboodskappe…
’n “Hallo Rika, hoe gaan dit met julle 3tjie?” vir nog een keer sal so ’n bederf wees.

Jissie… dit laat my net weer besef:
Geniet jou mense VANDAG,
wees lief VANDAG,
maak die oproep VANDAG…
want môre is nie in ons hande nie.”

My liefste, liefste Liesie…
vir altyd en ewig diep in my hart.
Dankie vir al die jare se ongelooflike mooi spesiale heringeringe.
