this first thursday (march 5th), the melville art mile returns to reclaim the streets with culture, creativity, and community. From 16:00 to 21:00, we are turning jozi's bohemian heartland into a walkable celebration of art, music, and local business.

we aren't just putting anyone on the map. we are currently finalising the ultimate top 20 participating venues and pop-ups to ensure you get the absolute best experience melville has to offer. the official list very soon. turn your notifications on.

🎨 new. monthly mam poster competition
we don’t just want you to look at art; we want you to make it.

starting this thursday, any artwork you create at one of the official melville art mile workshops or interactive stations can be submitted to feature on our official poster for the next month!

how it works:
1. get creative at our interactive venues on the mile.
2. submit your piece to the activity facilitator or venue.
3. our monthly participant meeting will vote on the best submission.

The winning artist gets their work on our official poster, full artist credit, and the public can make purchase offers! your fun doodle could be your next sale.

Most people talk about ‘revitalising the city’ - we’re actually doing it.

Johannesburg’s creative heart is beating again. This Thursday, February 5th, the Melville Art Mile officially launches and the 9th Street Row together with TROV + Oksijen in particular are proud to be a key stop on the route.

From 4pm to 9pm, Melville transforms into a curated journey of art, design and architecture. We are opening our studio doors to share a space where ‘curated calm’ meets the raw energy of the street.

Don’t just look at the map - be part of the movement.
