GUEST OF HONOUR 🎧👑

M.

Sound Engineer | Music Producer | Creative Specialist

As South Africa commemorates 50 Years of Youth Day, Vula Festival 2026 proudly welcomes Max M. as a Guest of Honour.

With over 20 years of experience in music production, sound engineering and creative development, Max M. has worked with artists such as Kwesta, Bozza, Fameboy Hydro, Exit, Morale, Maths, TeePee and MB, while contributing to numerous recording and production projects within South Africa's music industry.

At Vula Festival 2026, Max M. joins us to share insights from his journey in the creative industry and to engage with young artists, musicians, producers and content creators about the realities, opportunities and demands of the entertainment sector.

His presence is a reminder that success in the creative industry requires more than talent alone — it requires discipline, learning, consistency and a willingness to grow.

As we celebrate 50 years since the youth of 1976 opened doors for future generations, Max M. will help inspire today's youth to see creativity not only as a passion, but also as a pathway to opportunity.

ESONA NGCWAYI

A Young Voice Rising 🎶✨

Born on 19 September 2008 in Makhanda, Eastern Cape, Esona Ngcwayi discovered her love for singing at the age of seven.

Although music was initially a passion she enjoyed through primary school, her talent truly began to flourish in high school. Her journey took a significant step forward through Masicule, a celebrated schools music festival in Makhanda, where she was selected to perform the festival's signature solo alongside a mass choir of learners from different schools.

Her growing talent later earned her a nomination to perform as a Mezzo-Soprano Soloist at the SASCE Choral Competition, where she achieved First Place and advanced to the next round in Graaff-Reinet.

Today, Esona continues to develop her gift through choral music, representing a generation of young artists who are discovering the power of their voices.

At Vula Festival 2026, she joins other young talents to remind us that every accomplished artist was once a young dreamer who simply had the courage to sing.

The future has a voice. Her name is Esona Ngcwayi.

🔥 VULA FESTIVAL 2026 IS ON 🔥

Every masterpiece begins as a thought.

What you see here is more than wood crafted from pallets. It is vision transformed into reality.

Bra Sthizo reminds us that talent is not measured by what you possess, but by what you produce with what you have.

One idea can become a craft.
One craft can become a business.
One business can change a family.

Abanye bayabuza:

"Kwenzeka ntoni kanye kule Vula Festival?"

Nathi asiyazi.

Esiyaziyo kukuba... kuzode kuvuleke qha. 🔥

NDUMISO "DODO" MFUTHWANA

Bra Sthizo – The Original Handyman 🛠️🪵🌱

At Vula Festival 2026, we proudly welcome Ndumiso "Dodo" Mfuthwana, affectionately known in Ginsberg and beyond as Bra Sthizo.

Originally from eZibeleni, Queenstown, Dodo first made his mark on the football field, where many came to know and respect him. But football was only one chapter of a remarkable story.

He is a singer, choir trainer and composer of choral music. He is a qualified artisan with NATED training, practical experience in Building Engineering and Quantity Surveying, and years of service in the construction sector.

Builder.
Plumber.
Tiler.
Gardener.
Woodworker.
Craftsman.

Some people hire a construction company.

Bra Sthizo is the construction company.

This year, he joins Vula Festival as an exhibitor, showcasing handcrafted wooden products created from recycled pallets. His work demonstrates how skill, creativity and determination can transform ordinary materials into something beautiful and valuable.

His presence at Vula Festival is bigger than an exhibition.

It is a lesson.

A lesson that talent must be used.
A lesson that skills must be shared.
A lesson that every gift has value.

To the young people who will attend Vula Festival, Bra Sthizo brings a simple message:

"Do not wait for opportunities. Build them with your own hands."

A footballer.
A composer.
A craftsman.
A creator.

The Original Handyman.

KHAYA NOBALA

The Chief of the Moment 🎩🎶

At Vula Festival 2026, we proudly celebrate Khaya Nobala, an artist whose journey reminds us that talent, discipline and consistency can open remarkable doors.

A gifted performer in the fields of classical music and opera, Khaya's passion for singing began at a young age and grew through school competitions, community contests and choral music, eventually shaping him into the artist he is today.

Over the years, he has performed on respected platforms including the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, the Old Mutual National Choir Festival, the OR Tambo Music Festival, POLMUSCA, and The Melting Pot, sharing stages with some of the country's finest talents.

His excellence has also seen him perform at prestigious national events, including:

🏆 Daimler Truck Southern Africa New Campus Opening
🏆 NAAMSA Captains of Industry Gala Dinner
🏆 SA Auto Week Accelerator Awards

What makes Khaya's story powerful is that he represents the ordinary young person who chose not to abandon his gift.

Today, he stands as proof that the arts are not simply entertainment—they are a path of growth, discipline, opportunity and purpose.

For every young singer, performer and dreamer who will attend Vula Festival, Khaya's presence carries a simple but profound message:

"Take your gift seriously. The world may be waiting for it."

He comes not only to perform.

He comes to inspire.

He comes to show the next generation that the journey is possible.

KHANYA SAKUBE

The Prince of the Day 👑🎶

Vula Festival 2026 proudly presents Victor Sakube , an internationally accomplished tenor whose journey stands as a powerful example of what dedication, discipline and belief in one's gift can achieve.

From the classrooms and choir stages of the Eastern Cape to prestigious performances across Europe, North America and Asia, Khanya has carried the flag of South African excellence with distinction. His career reflects years of sacrifice, training and unwavering commitment to the art of singing.

Yet his greatest contribution may not be the stages he has conquered, but the inspiration he offers to those who are still finding their voice.

At Vula Festival 2026, Khanya joins a generation of artists who are returning home to say to the next generation:

"This is possible."

His presence is a reminder that talent must be nurtured, that dreams require work, and that art is not merely a hobby—it can become a life's calling.

For every young singer, choir member, musician and performer who will walk through the doors of NU7 Hall, Khanya Sakube represents a living testimony that a child from the Eastern Cape can stand confidently on the world's stages and remain proudly rooted in their community.

Not simply a performer.

Not simply a guest.

But a beacon for those who will follow.

The Prince of the Day.

SIYASANGA MBUYAZWE-NGOZI

The Queen of the Moment 👑✨

Vula Festival 2026 is honoured to welcome The Queen in the house of Mr Luvuyo Sangweni Ngozi , one of the Eastern Cape's finest operatic voices and a true daughter of African excellence.

Born in Cala, Siyasanga's musical journey began in church at a young age. Her passion for singing led her to formal music studies before joining the Choral Training Programme in Cape Town under the guidance of Prof Andrea Catzel. She later pursued Opera studies at the University of Cape Town, graduating with a Performer's Diploma in Opera and a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance.

Her remarkable career has seen her perform major operatic roles in South Africa and internationally, including the iconic Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, alongside many other leading soprano roles.

Yet beyond the accolades and international stages, Siyasanga remains an inspiration to young people from communities like ours. She represents what is possible when talent is nurtured, discipline is embraced and dreams are pursued relentlessly.

On 16 June 2026, she joins us not only as a performer, but as a symbol of excellence, a role model for young artists and a powerful reminder that greatness can emerge from our own communities.

For many of the young singers, poets, artists and performers attending Vula Festival, this will be more than meeting an accomplished artist.

It will be a moment of artistic affirmation.

A moment of inspiration.

A moment of possibility.

The Queen of the Moment has arrived.
