BAYEDE is a Thefuya(Thefula) dialect of the NGONI language, meaning BALETHE in current Zulu.
Just like Amapholisa(Police), most Nguni says Amaphoyisa/Maphoyisa. They lost the "L" and replace with "Y" for thefuya; others don't pronounce "R", where there is "R" they put "L" just like my grandma😅100 Landi instead of 100 Rand. My late grandfather on the paternal couldn't pronounce "L" he puts "R" , "Rinda,Rucky,Thurire,Kherinah"😂so funny.
Balethe(bring them)
Oral Tradition history teaches us that Zulu warriors had to capture some people after defeating them, the King would pronounce "Balethe"(Bring them) or "Baletheni la"(Bring them here) then the induna would shout "Balethe!" For the message to reach the back[Remember there no microphones and speakers] all the regiments would shout "Balethe!". Thefuya dialect bacame famous in such a way that the shouting was "Bayede!" Or "Bayethe!"
Ndebele use Mayethe(Let it pour) whilst other nation shouts "P**a" or "Mayine"
