What an honour to gather within the space of the Future Lab of the Pina Bausch Foundation.

To finally meet the 2025 fellows in person. To witness not only the depth of their works, but the generosity, brilliance, and care of the people behind them, was deeply moving.

The week became an immersive collage of practices, perspectives, questions, and futures. Dense, expansive, tender. A reminder that the work being made now is already shaping our more, more, and more. Our tomorrow.

I carry immense gratitude for the fellows, the conversations shared, and for the opportunity to represent Manenberg and South Africa within this gathering of artists imagining forward together.

In Afrikaans, โ€œmรดreโ€ means good morning, but it also carries the meaning of tomorrow. Repeated three times, More, More, More becomes an affirmation: a calling into aliveness.

More, More, More reflects on today, tomorrow, and the future of what performance can look like within a community such as Manenberg. It asks what happens when dance exists outside of formal theatres and enters daily life unexpectedly. The sudden image of a body dancing on a street corner becomes more than spectacle; it becomes a gesture of recognition, a โ€œgood morningโ€ to the people passing by, and an awakening to the possibility of art existing as part of everyday living.

The work honors presence, resilience, and imagination within Manenberg, proposing performance not as something distant or exclusive, but as something already alive within the streets, the people, and the ordinary rituals of the day.

After months of conversation and planning. Four months of intense hybrid work for the Pina Bausch Fellowship. I am very excited to meet the one and only Moya Michael in person. I am looking forward to sharing the creative space with her for the next few weeks
