Celebrating our Grade 11 Learners! 📚✨

On Thursday, 14 May, a group of our Grade 11 learners traveled to Barkly East to participate in the Joe Gqabi District Essay Competition presentation, held in celebration of International Museums Day.

Our learners were invited to present their essays on the meaningful theme: "Museums Uniting a Divided World." They shared thoughtful perspectives on how history, art, and heritage can serve as bridges in our communities.

Discover the Magic of Music at Lady Grey Arts Academy 🎹🎷

There is a beautiful new landmark on our campus! Our Grade 2 educator, Mrs. Nellie von Solms, has used her incredible talent to create a musical masterpiece on our walls.

This project was the wonderful vision of Mrs. Marilena Jordaan, who not only came up with the idea to brighten our music department but also personally sponsored all the materials and labor to make this dream a reality.

She is pictured here with our music specialists, Mrs. Karen Vorster, Mrs. Mariette Pitout, and the artist herself, Mrs. Nellie van Solms.

LGAA offers MUSIC as a subject and individual lessons in:
✅ Piano & Recorder
✅ Saxophone, Flute & Clarinet
✅ Trumpet & Trombone
✅ Violin
✅ Singing

The music never stops! 🎶✨

It feels like just yesterday that Inga Mbete (Class of 2019) was filling our halls with the sound of her trombone. Today, we celebrate her graduating with a BMus Honours from the University of Fort Hare! 🎓🎺
Inga’s journey from a music subject learner at Lady Grey Arts Academy to a university honors graduate is a testament to hard work and passion.

Congratulations, Inga! We can’t wait to see where your talent takes you next. 👏⭐

Please be advised that LGAA will be CLOSED on Wednesday, 6 May, and Thursday, 7 May 2026 due to the severe weather conditions currently impacting our area.
