eKFM 103.6 Your Konnexion Your Voice
We would like to appeal for the return of The Jazz Konexion, hosted by Jackie Kodisang, to its original 12pm–3pm time slot instead of the current 6pm schedule.
The Jazz Konexion is much more than just a music show. With Jackie Kodisang at the helm, it has become an important platform for sharing information about jazz events, listening sessions and cultural gatherings happening across Ekurhuleni. Many listeners rely on the programme for updates and recommendations that help keep the local jazz community connected.
The current 6pm time slot has unfortunately made it harder for the programme to reach its audience. By that time, many listeners are already on their way to or attending jazz events, which means they often miss the show. This has had an impact on listener engagement and accessibility.
The original 12pm–3pm slot is better suited to informing and engaging listeners while they are planning their day or getting ready for various jazz sessions and events. It allows The Jazz Konexion to continue being both an entertaining programme and a trusted source of information for the jazz community.
Over the years, Jackie Kodisang has built a loyal following and has used the platform not only to celebrate jazz music, but also to support artists, venues and events throughout Ekurhuleni. Bringing the programme back to its original time slot would strengthen its impact and continue its contribution to the area's vibrant jazz culture.
We kindly ask that consideration be given to returning The Jazz Konexion with Jackie Kodisang to its original 12pm–3pm time slot so that it can continue serving its listeners and the wider jazz community in the best possible way.
